
Matilde Rodrigues
Matilde A. Rodrigues is a Cordinator Professor in the Department of Environmental Health at the School of Health, Polytechnic Institute of Porto (E2S|P.PORTO). She previously served as the Coordinator of the Environmental Health BSc and is currently the Coordinator of the Master's program in Hygiene and Safety at Organizations. She is a researcher at the Center for Translational Health and Medical Biotechnology Research (T.BIO), nestled within the broader Health Research Network (RISE-Health), and a collaborator at the ALGORITMI Research Center within the Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) research line, specifically in the Ergonomics and Human Factors group at the University of Minho (UMinho). At T.BIO, she co-coordinates the Human Factors and Cognition Laboratory. She earned her BSc in Environmental Health in 2007 from E2S|P.PORTO. In 2009, she completed her MSc in Human Engineering (Ergonomics and Human Factors) at the University of Minho, followed by a PhD in Industrial Engineering and Systems in 2014. Her doctoral thesis focused on the "Development of a Model for Occupational Risk Acceptance Criteria Definition in Industrial Settings." Her master's thesis was in the field of Ergonomics and Human Factors. In 2014, she was awarded a Santander Research Grant for Young Researchers, which supported her postdoctoral research at the University of Málaga. Her research interests lie in the fields of Occupational Health & Safety, Human Factors Engineering, Risk Management, Ergonomics, Operations Management, and intelligent systems for health assessment, monitoring, and risk management. Currently, she coordinates the international project RETAILL and is the local coordinator of several other funded research projects (e.g., SIREN, ResilientEnterprise, among others). She has published several articles in international peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, and is a co-author of several book chapters published internationally. She also serves as Associate Editor for Safety Science (JCR 2024; IF: 5,4).
