Mónica Vieira
Mónica Vieira is a lecturer in the Chemical and Biomolecular Sciences Department at School of Health of Polytechnic University of Porto, Portugal (ESS | P.PORTO).
She develops her investigation at the Center of Translational Health and Medical Biotechnology Research (TBIO), also at ESS | P.PORTO and is a colaborator member of i3S, Porto.
She is graduated and Master in Chemistry and PhD in Sustainable Chemistry.
Since her graduation, she has collaborated with several entities, is author and co-author of several scientific works, published in indexed scientific journals and integrated financed investigation projects, also as PI.
She has developed her investigation activity in the Medical Biotechnology field, namely in the development of detection and quantification methods for several biomolecules, as biomarkers for neurological disorders and oxidative stress. She has also dedicated her activity to the development of biosensors in the COVID and other infectious contexts.
She is currently President of the Pedagogical Council of ESS|P.PORTO and also Coordinator of the Master Degree in Biochemistry in Health.
