Matilde Rodrigues

Matilde A. Rodrigues is Adjunct Professor in the Department of Environmental Health at the School of Health of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (ESS|P.PORTO). She served as the Coordinator of the Environmental Health BSc and of the Master in Hygiene and Safety at Organizations. She is a researcher at the Center for Translational Health and Medical Biotechnology Research, ESS | P.PORTO and collaborator at the ALGORITMI Research Center in the Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) research line, specifically within the group of Ergonomics and Human Factors, UMinho. She received her BSc in Environmental Health in 2007 from the ESS|P.PORTO. In 2009 she obtained her MSc from the University of Minho in Human Engineering (Ergonomics and Human Factors), followed by her PhD in Industrial Engineering and Systems in 2014. Her doctoral thesis focuses on "Development of a model for occupational risk acceptance criteria definition in industrial settings." Her master thesis was in the field of Ergonomics and Human factors. In 2014 she was awarded a Santander Research Grant for Young Researchers, which supported her Post-Doc research at the University of Málaga. Her research interests are in the domain of Occupational Health & Safety, Human Factors Engineering, Risk Management, Ergonomics and IoT systems to support health assessment and monitoring, as well as risk management. She has successfully coordinated projects funded both internally and by private entities (e.g., MSDs@Retail) and has been a researcher and collaborator in funded research projects (e.g., Mad@Work). Matilde A. Rodrigues has published several papers in international peer-reviewed journals and in international conference proceedings. She is co-author of several chapters published in international books. She also holds the position of Associate Editor at Safety Science (ISI, IF: 6.392).
