José Lopes is an Invited Adjunct Professor at E2S | P. Porto and an Integrated Researcher at the Center for Translational Health and Medical Biotechnology Research. He holds a PhD in Neuroscience from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto. During his PhD, José studied the crosstalk between the cardiovascular and pain control systems. During two post-docs, one at Weill Cornell Medicine and the other at Western University, he expanded his research interests by focusing on neurogenic hypertension, neurobiology of menopause, and Alzheimer’s disease. José is the author of multiple peer-reviewed papers and book chapters, and currently also works as a science editor at a major rare disease news network.
