Jorge Luis de Miranda Ribas has been teaching at the Escola Superior de Saúde do Politécnico do Porto (ESS), first on an Extraordinary Service Commission as an Assistant Professor to May 2013 and as an Adjunct Professor until 2 November 2023, when he takes up his post as Coordinating Professor. His pedagogical activity has focused on teaching Morphological Sciences subjects. Her current area of interest is in the field of anatomy and movement in general, the spine in particular and its association with chronic low back pain. He has held various management positions, including his appointment on 2003 as Subdirector of ESTSP until 2007. As well as teaching at this school, he also worked as a physiotherapist in private practice, and from June 1988 until November 2001 he was a member of the staff of the Hospital de São João, occupying the post of Principal Physiotherapist Technician. He has worked as a freelance physiotherapist since 1986 and has been the technical manager of "Jorge Ribas Fisioterapeutas, Lda." since 1996 and of "Jorge Ribas-Porto Physio Center L.da" since 2013.
