Catarina Teixeira
Catarina Correia Teixeira has completed her Chemistry degree in Faculty of Sciences of University of Porto in 2019 with a complementary training (minor) in Biology and also, an extra-curricular internship in REQUIMTE lab, where she studied the role of polyphenols in metabolomics. Her Master in Biochemistry in Health - Branch of Clinical and Metabolic Biochemistry was concluded in 2021 in Polytechnic Institute of Porto. During this time, she developed her dissertation entitled "The impact of obesity in renal fibrosis" which allowed her first-author paper publication: "Enhanced 3T3-L1 differentiation into adipocytes by pioglitazone pharmacological activation of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma". She was also a Researcher in Institute for Research and Innovation in Health (metabesity group) and in Laboratory of Medical and Industrial Biotechnology | PORTIC (Porto Research, Technology and Innovation Center) - Polytechnic Institute of Porto where she was involved in studies of cellular and molecular behavior, as well as molecular virology, using animal and cell models and in molecular diagnostics of diseases. As a result, she published some scientific papers and participated as author and co-author in 3 conferences. In the year 22/23, she attended at the PhD in Advanced Biotechnology in University of Vigo and currently she is a Neuroscience PhD student fellow in Institute for Research and Innovation in Health (i3s - Addiction Biology group) and Faculty of Medicine of University of Porto.
