Research Assistant – MSc Student

Ivan Shcherbinin successfully completed his degree in Orthoptics at the Porto School of Health, where he gained a solid foundation in the principles of orthoptics and visual health care. His journey continued at the Coimbra University Hospital (CHUC), where he honed skills in conducting a wide range of diagnostic and pre-operative exams. This experience has been valuable in shaping his understanding of the details involved in patient care. Later, his professional journey expanded in the field of optometry. He finds immense passion in conducting specialized vision consultations, driven by a genuine interest in enhancing and preserving the health of those under his care. Presently, he is dedicated in advancing his knowledge and skills by pursuing a master's degree in biomedical research – visual sciences at Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra (FMUC). His ongoing project delves into a better understanding of artificial intelligence and glaucoma, aiming to contribute to innovative solutions in the diagnosis field. Additionally, he is an active member of the Centre for Translational Health and Medical Biotechnology Research (TBIO) and Association for Innovation and Biomedical Research on Light and Image (AIBILI).
