
Rúben Magalhães
Rúben Magalhães completed his BSc in Orthoptics at the School of Health, Polytechnic Institute of Porto (E2S-IPP) in 2023, followed by a Master’s degree in Neurobiology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto (FMUP) in 2025. He is currently enrolled in the PhD Program in Neurosciences (PDN) at FMUP. Professionally, he works as an Invited Assistant in the Orthoptics degree programme at E2S-IPP and holds a doctoral studentship at the Center for Translational Health and Medical Biotechnology Research | Health Research Network (RISE-HEALTH@TBIO). Previously, he worked as a grader at the Coimbra Ophthalmology Reading Centre (CORC), a clinical trials unit integrated into the Association for Innovation and Biomedical Research on Light and Image (AIBILI) and practiced as a part-time Orthoptist in a private ophthalmology clinic. His main research interests lie in visual neuroscience, particularly the structural and functional study of the visual system and the application of non-invasive brain stimulation techniques.
