Martina Gonçalves

PhD Student, Research Fellow

Martina Dourado Gonçalves is a Research Fellow, working within the BioNortHealth project – Creation of a Cohort of Adolescents and Young Adults Supported by Digital Biobanks, part of the NORTE+SAÚDE initiative for Digital Transition and Innovation in Health Education.
She holds a Master’s degree in Oncology from the University of Porto (ICBAS) and a Bachelor’s in Medicinal Biotechnology from School of Health of Polytechnic of Porto (E2S|P.Porto). Her research explores the intersection of biobanking, digital health, and biomedical data, aiming to advance precision medicine and translational research. Previously, she investigated cancer biomarkers and functional glycoproteomics, contributing to a deeper understanding of tumour biology.
Martina has presented her work at several scientific meetings, earning the Best Oral Communication Award at IJUP 2024, and co-authored papers in international peer-reviewed journals. Passionate about science and communication, she believes in the power of collaborative and digital research to shape a more connected and personalized future for healthcare.
