WOS2024 – Building a Resilient Future

Last week, TBIO researcher Inês Lapa had the honour of taking part in WOS2024, the 12th International Conference on Safety at Work, held in Dresden, Germany. The event, which brought together professionals from all over the world under the theme ‘Building a Resilient Future: Towards Sustainable Safety in a Rapidly Changing World’, provided a space to exchange experiences and discuss the future of safety at work.

During the conference, Inês Lapa was awarded second place in the Young Scientist Award 2024, in recognition of her work entitled ‘Development of a Decision-Making Tool to Help Classify Work-Related Accidents Due to Overexertion: Preliminary Results’, presented in session T4: Vision Zero: Safety – Health – Wellbeing. This award celebrates the creation of an innovative tool for classifying work-related accidents due to overexertion of the musculoskeletal system, a crucial issue in sectors involving manual and repetitive tasks.
